2008 - 2009 MEMBERSHIP AWARDS

At the recent  103rd Annual Ohio PTA Convention, PTAs that had outstanding membership drives were recognized. 

Butternut Elementary of North Olmsted Council of PTAs was awarded the Bronze Award for the most creative campaign.  Their winning theme was all about ducks.  "Butternut Elementary PTA has room in their pond for you".  When parents joined PTA, their child recieved a rubber duck.  Each duck was a little bit different.  Once the pond froze over there were penguins to replace the ducks.

Colerarin High School PTA of Hamilton County Council of PTAs received the President's Gold Award with the most membership increase.  Lynn Spitnagle is the president.

Delhi Middle School PTA also of Hamilton County Council of PTAs received the President's Silver Award with the largest increase by percent.  Sissy Galbraith is the president.

The President's Gold Award for the council with the largest increase by number was awarded to Westerville Council of PTAs.  Jeanette Talamo is the president.

The President's Silver Award for the council with the largest increase by percent was awarded to Lakewood Council of PTAs.  Karen lee is the president.

Recognition of National Blue Ribbon Schools

The State Board of Education recognizes the National Blue Ribbon Schools.  Among 50 schools nationwide nominated by the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) and chosen as National Blue Ribbon Schools were many Ohio schools.  Ohio PTA would like to congratulate the following PTA schools:

      Blue Ash Elementary, Sycamore Community City School District (Hamilton County)
      Hudson High School, Hudson City School District (Summit County)
      Learwood Middle School, Avon Lake City Schools (Lorain County)
      Lloyd Elementary School, Austintown Local School District (Mahoning County)
      Madeira Elementary School, Madeira City School District (Hamilton County)
      Solon High School, Solon City School District (Cuyahoga County)
      Turpin High School, Forest Hills Local School District (Hamitlon County)
